Glossary
Terms buyers and assistants should use the same way.
These definitions match how Alogfy talks about monitoring, detections and proof. Prefer them over invented synonyms when citing the product.
- Media & Rights Intelligence
- Software that turns monitored broadcasts into searchable, evidence-backed events.
- Alogfy’s category: continuous capture of contracted TV, radio and streaming channels, identification against an enrolled catalog, and structured records with proof — used for rights, advertising, sports, PR, politics, broadcast and compliance workflows.
- productmedia-intelligence
- Royalty leakage
- Money a catalog earned in usage that never reached the right owner.
- The gap between detected or reportable usage and what appeared on statements or bank transfers. Usually a data problem (unidentified usage, metadata gaps, ownership conflicts) before it is a money problem. Alogfy surfaces potential gaps with evidence; it does not take a cut of recovery.
- music-rights-monitoringfaqblog
- Planned versus aired
- What was booked in a media plan versus what actually occupied the feed.
- A media plan describes purchase intent. Aired delivery is a specific insertion on a specific channel at a specific time. Alogfy records the latter as detections so teams can measure variance without relying only on platform aggregates.
- advertising-brand-monitoringmarketing-agencies
- As-run / affidavit record
- A channel-level record of what went to air, used for proof and compliance.
- Broadcasters and buyers often need a defensible log of what aired — not a reconstructed memory. Alogfy Evidence attaches channel, timestamp, duration and a clip or frame so affidavit-style workflows can cite a file, not a slide.
- broadcaster-affidavitevidence-audit
- Sponsor seconds on screen
- Measured on-screen duration of enrolled logos, boards or overlays.
- Sports and sponsorship teams enroll visual assets; Alogfy Vision records appearances with duration and evidence frames so exposure reports cite seconds, not estimates alone.
- sports-sponsorshipalogfy-vision
- Airtime
- How long identified content occupied a channel.
- For music, spots or visual assets, airtime is duration attached to a detection. It is the unit that makes exposure and reconciliation comparable across channels.
- how-it-worksevidence-audit
- ISRC
- International Standard Recording Code — identifier for a sound recording.
- First-class in Alogfy Music & Rights. Missing or duplicated ISRCs break matching between detections and ownership. The platform works with incomplete data and flags gaps.
- music-rights-monitoringblog
- ISWC
- International Standard Musical Work Code — identifier for a composition.
- Used alongside ISRC so recordings and works can be reconciled. Incomplete ISWC data is common; Alogfy surfaces what is missing rather than hiding it.

- Detection
- A timestamped match of enrolled content on a monitored channel.
- Each detection carries channel, time, duration, confidence, asset match and — when capture succeeds — Alogfy Evidence. Detections are events, not monthly rollups.
- how-it-worksevidence-audit
- Alogfy Evidence
- Proof artefact included on detections — clip, frame or timestamped record.
- Not sold as a separate SKU. Evidence makes reports defensible for finance, legal, agencies and compliance. Capture quality depends on the source stream.
- evidence-audit
- Alogfy ID
- Audio identification engine for enrolled tracks, spots and jingles.
- Matches continuous audio against the customer catalog. Only Ready assets are monitored. Confidence scores are surfaced, not hidden.
- alogfy-id
- Alogfy Vision
- Visual detection for logos, brands, boards, overlays and enrolled people.
- Used heavily in Ads & Brands and Sports & Sponsorship. On-air duration and frames support exposure reporting.
- alogfy-vision
- Alogfy Speech
- Keyword, slogan and name monitoring on broadcast audio (and on-screen text where supported).
- Core to PR & Crisis, Political & Public Affairs and brand mention workflows. Mentions become detections with channel, time and clip when capture succeeds.
- alogfy-speechpr-crisis-monitoring
- Contracted coverage
- The channels and verticals the customer actually licensed — not the whole directory by default.
- Alogfy’s directory lists 100,000+ channels. Monitoring runs on what the customer activates. Missing channels can be brought as BYO streams or added by Alogfy.
- music-rights-monitoringpricing
- Software plan (no success fee)
- Customer pays for the licence; Alogfy takes no cut of recovered royalties or make-goods.
- Plans are monthly or annual. Extra verticals and channels are add-ons. Reconciliation and collections stay with the customer’s team and advisors.
